I decided to start with how to dress a pear shaped body because it's one of the most common body types for women. I can speak from experience that having a larger bottom half than top half is not always easy to dress, but believe me it doesn't have to be torture. The key is to wear tops that show off your small and beautiful upper body and pants or skirts that camouflage your thicker bottom half. This doesn't mean that you never should wear jeans or fitted skirts, it just means you have to learn how to make them work so you don't look heavier on bottom than you are.
Bottom Half: A-line skirts that are fitted at the waist and flare away from that point will skim your hips and camouflage your thighs, accentuating your great shape without emphasizing anything you don't like. Your waist will look tiny as long as you keep it cinched in. Keep dresses like this for the most part too. A-line or slightly fuller is your go-to look. However, you don't have to only wear a-line. You can wear fitted dresses and skirts as well, but just make sure they aren't too tight and you still emphasize your waist. Wide legged or trouser jeans are great for your body type as well. These are from Gap and are their trouser jeans. You want to look for jeans that widen or flare from the knee but aren't super tight on the thighs or else you will accentuate your bigger thighs. Higher waisted pants will also help you skim over your hips as well so you avoid having to keep pulling pants up over because your rear is pulling them down (I am speaking from experience here...).
Top Half: Most likely your top half is pretty small and shapely. This is where you can really emphasize your smallest features. I chose just a simple tank top that had a little fun ruffle on it because this will counter the volume of the skirt and make your look even tinier on top. Make sure you don't do volume with volume, especially without making sure you have a very defined waist. If you're pairing a top with the kind of jeans I suggested you can do a more voluminous top if you tuck it in and wear a belt with it so you have some shape defined. Other than that, stick with more fitted tops that accentuate your tiny-ness. If you don't have a super flat stomach (which most of us don't) than just make sure your tops are fitted but not super tight.
I know this is pretty general rules and advice, but since every person is unique it's tough to tell you what you should and should not wear based simply on a general body type guide. So, this should give you a starting point and some basic guidelines, but I am always here to help!
